54% Increase in Sale Results in Dormagen

February 2019, Dormagen, Germany - Euro Auctions sale results in a 54% increase over the same month in 2018, proving the home German market thinks buying and selling at auction makes sense. First time bidders turn out again in large numbers for popular equipment auction.

Over 2800 pieces of quality used and new construction and agricultural machinery were sold over two days at the recent Euro Auctions, Dormagen sale. Held on the 13th and 14th February, bidding was brisk, prices were strong and over the two days, over €14.5 million of machines were sold, making this now the biggest Dormagen sale to date.

With the number of buyers increasing at each sale in the last 12 months, Euro Auctions has seen substantial growth in the number of registrations, bidders and successful buyers from Germany, Poland, The Netherlands and Belgium, making 65% of total sales. In addition, there was strong interest from a global market through Euro Auctions marketing to over 200,000 buyers and sellers around the globe, in 190 countries.

2,800 lots, a significant proportion of which were nearly new machines, from almost 200 vendors, were sold without reserve. The event again proved that quality equipment is in real demand and this German auction is increasingly becoming the preferred purchase route of choice for a growing number of local and international machinery buyers.

“Euro Auctions has been in Dormagen since 2006 and were the pioneers of this type of auction, which is now universally accepted and attracts buyers and sellers from all over Europe. In the last 13 years we have seen increased growth and are again delighted with both the quality of equipment being consigned and the high level of international interest created by our increasingly popular Dormagen sales,” comments Erik Kortum, Euro Auctions’ country manager for Germany. “This year Euro Auctions celebrates 13 years in Dormagen and 21 years as global auctioneers. We continue to attract new bidders from across Germany, Europe and often further afield. This sale attracted bidders from over 50 countries; all looking to acquire top specification machines as they can be confident they will be reliable, yet affordable, and fulfil their requirements.”

He continued: “With the wide range of high specification, low hours machines the Dormagen auction is proving increasingly popular.”
